Where Did Filming of You Series 4 Take Place?
Uni-versal Extras were delighted to take part in the most recent series of Netflix smash-hit, ‘You‘.
(Although our Artistes may be more familiar with the production under its working title of ‘Loveless’ 😉)
With the final instalment of Series 4 releasing on Netflix today, we thought what better time to take a look back on some of the UK filming locations that Joe Goldberg, as well as many of our fabulous UVE Artistes, took a little visit to for filming.
What do you say?
Kicking things off, we’re off to the Greater London county of…
📍 Surrey
Although being seamlessly edited to imply that Joe (or rather Jonathan) now teaches at a prestigious university in the nation’s capital, native Londoner’s might spot that the fictional ‘Darcy College’ campus is rather in Surrey.
That is because Darcy College is, in fact, Egham’s Royal Holloway University.
During these scenes, you’ll want to keep a special eye out for the roles of the Literature Students, Professors, Staff and various Students floating about campus, where you can see some of our Artistes flexing their acting skills!
Eagle-eyed viewers may also have spotted additional footage captured just North East of here in Richmond!
📍 Hertfordshire
Those that fully are up-to-date on Part 1 of Series 4 will also know that Goldberg and his new gaggle of British chums took a little trip to a quaint, countryside manor courtesy of Lady Phoebe [pictured below].
The scenes in question took part at none other than Knebworth House – a historic Hertfordshire home once belonging the Victorian author Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Want to take a look at the grounds for yourself? Check it out here.
Elsewhere in Hertfordshire, ‘You’ scenes set in the elite fictional members club ‘Sundry House’ actually took place inside London’s famous nightclub Fabric in Farringdon, as well as within Warner Bros. Studios. Keep watch for our Sundry House Diners, barmaids, mixologists, passers-by – amongst many other roles – here!
📍 East / South East London
Joe Goldberg couldn’t fly all the way overseas to England without exploring the notoriously arty district of East London now, could he?
Joe spent a significant amount of time this series strolling through the streets of Shoreditch and Borough Market, as well as attending a fancy Gallery exhibition held at Old Billingsgate.
…Of course, filming in London just would not be complete without at least one night-time glance at the iconic Tower Bridge.
📍 West London
Last but not least; the most London scenes from Series 4 took place, of course, in West London.
Darting all over town, series 4 locations included: Primrose Hill, Pall Mall, London St. Pancras, Chiswick, Barbican, Southwark and Kynance Mews in South Kensington – where we find Joe’s picturesque apartment.
In West London scenes, make sure to keep watch for UVE Reporters, Police Officers, Sommeliers, Commuters, Train Staff, Postmen, Shop Workers, Passers-by and more!
