The Great Catsby: Classic Movies If The Leads Were Cats!
Ever wondered what your favourite films might look like with a feline lead? 🐱
Let’s be honest. Probably not.
But even so, we thought it might be fun to celebrate International Cat Day by reimagining a few of our favourite works of cinema if they’d have had slightly furrier cast members.
So without further ado…
Classic Movies If The Leads Were Cats!
The Great Catsby
A wealthy, lovestruck tomcat spends his life pursuing the beautiful domestic shorthair from across the lake.
After eventually wooing her with grand offerings of dead mice and birds, he is killed – but it doesn’t matter because he has 8 more lives left over.
A seaside town lives in fear of a giant underwater beast, reaching up from the deep and playfully batting swimmers back and forth.
A stray cat recounts his life travelling from garden to garden, explaining where he developed his particular penchant for shrimp, ping pong balls and the zoomies.
Run, Furrest Run!
The Sound of Mewsic
A yodelling cat travels to Austria, meeting Captain Vonn Cat-Flap and his seven mischievous kittens.
She tries to teach them harmonies and choreography, but they all remain disinterested.
The Clawshank Redemption
A tabby is wrongfully taken into an animal shelter, where he befriends fellow inmate Red-paw.
Instead of plotting an elaborate escape, the two are pretty happy indoors with regular meals and yard time. The idea of tunnelling out seems exhausting so they decide to take a nap instead.
…We’re not so sure these versions would have made quite the same impression, are you?
